Back from Kaohsiung!

Hey everybody!

Just came back from Kaohsiung yesterday night! Was supposed to meet my cousin but well... Idk but we didn't manage to meet up probably due to her not being able to get Wifi.

It's kinda weird how everyone seems so reliant on internet on the go these days. Ohwells.

Just saw some videos of some popular blogger on the internet and they really don't seem as pretty as bloggers of before. You know people like Xiaxue, Qiuqiu, they are all so freakinggggg pretty. But I guess time changes and so does everyone's tastes.

Kinda tired to edit the photos we took yesterday at Kaohsiung when we went to the Lego exhibition because I completely forgot to bring my camera thanks to my geykhiang-ness to charge it in the morning. Now even better, all my photos have to be taken on my Note.

But one thing I'm proud of! I've finished the book I started yesterday morning! "Still Missing" by Chevy Stevens. I absolutely love the intensity of the book, so much so that I stayed up at night to finish reading it after such a tiring day and didn't even dare to go to the toilet after reading because the book is that terrifying. For everyone who loves a good psychological thriller, I would totally recommend this book!

While this book may not have the best crafted story, it is with no doubt it is an intense book that would be sure to linger in your mind wayyyyyyyyy after you put the book down; and that is if you're even able to put it down. I'm not going to bother with the summary of the book because hey, this is a book about abduction and the emotional turmoil of the woman after she went home. Not the most complex story line yet you'll be missing out on her journey if you don't read. Kinda reminds me of the sick psycho Joseph Fritzl.

Eeew. Creepy.

2 months in Taiwan

I've been in Taiwan for 2 and close to 3 months in Taiwan now and my eyesight never felt so bad. It's so horrid now I feel like I might go blind anytime soon.

All in all Taiwan is super fun, having gone to so many places. The only one complaint I have is the food.....

I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYONE IS SO OBSESSED WITH TAIWAN FOOD.

I mean I get it, the food is awesome the first 5 days I was here... then it just goes all the way down. And by down, I MEAN DOWN.
It's like they don't know any way to prepare the food other than frying it. And that their only side dishes are pork cutlet, chicken cutlet, cutlet cutlet cutlet.

I thought I should be blogging yet again because hey, there's no better time to record my journey other than through blogging ain't it?

So I log on to blogger and guess what happened? Because I posted all my old photos through blogger server, apparently it's missing for god knows why. Sigh, gotta start uploading to flickr from now on.

Okay shall stop with the ramblings and get on to where I've just came back from the weekend! It was a really hectic weekend and we went to two places in three days! Guanziling for mud spring on Saturday and Alishan on Sunday through to Monday! It's really a bummer because it was raining like a freaking dog throughout the weekend and the moment it hits Monday suddenly the rain god decides "hey, I think they've suffered enough and wasted enough money. Let's stop the rain and give them BLAZING FUCKING SUN even though it's winter *inserts smirk*".

It's really sad that we didn't take much photos from Guanziling other than the fire/water thing which is truly amazing. Seriously, how many times do you see a fire burning so brightly WHEN IT'S RAINING THUNDERSTORM OUTSIDE, because when you're inside, it's pretty much just rain and mud and annoying woman telling their boyfriend in their disgusting voices to *insert ghetto voice* "help me pile this piece of shit on" just kidding. Not kidding about the annoying voice though.

So other than the rain god's absolute love for us, we also encountered this granny who seems to love us so much she can't seem to stop touting us to take her car up. I swear the woman must be 70 at least, and that she also seems to be slightly on the crazy side, so much so she's delusioned about US being crazy and called us that when we rejected her ride even though hers is 50NTD cheaper per pax; primarily due to her being not only a crazy bitch but also a very very very naggy one.

On our way up. Yup, thanks to the rain it was already cold enough on the car to have me wrap myself up like a bah-zhang

Views going uphill!

As you can see from the sun, this was actually taken on our way down but aiya, makes more chronological sense putting it here haha

Thats right bitches! It's so freaking cold up there Derp and I had to rent winter clothings to wear on top of what we brought!
OOTD: 1 pullover, 1 cardigan, 1 school sweater, 1 winter jacket, 1 beanie + 2 hoodies from the abovementioned jacket.
THAT'S RIGHT BITCHESSSSSSS~

And like everyone knows right, to go to Alishan you must be going there for 3 things:
  1. Walking on top of clouds
  2. Seeing the stars
  3. Seeing the sunset/sunrise without freezing to your death

Well, as luck would have it?

NO FUCKING WAY.

It's mist and fog EVERYWHERE YOU TURN. In fact, the wind and the rain is so bloody bad all you see is this.

BURSTS AFTER BURSTS AFTER BURSTS OF FOG

Being utterly devastated at the turn of events, we went for the trek (okay lah in my definition it's trekking but to Derp it is "hardly trekking" *rolls eyes*. You walk in the forrest, you find your way out equals trekking.) in the ERRATIC RAIN. I say erratic because the rain cannot decide what volume it wants us to have, so he rotates the rain volume with no particular frequency.

The thing is that the forrest is really really really pretty so mai hiam buay pai lah.

You have to take the train to start your trek! Im sure if you go Alishan CONFIRM have to take this train. There's really nothing much to do over there but hey, the trees are COMPLETELY gorgeous!
Just looking at the wetness of the floor and you'll know how much I've suffered over there *sobs*

LOOK AT THIS GORGEOUS TREE! IT'S JUST LIKE IN TWILIGHT!

I can't actually remember if this is the sunrise or sunset..... Aiya sunrise lah, PRETTY EH
3 generations of tree! Cool?

Taken when trekking! I believe it looks tons better IRL
After trekking! look how tired we are!
I highly believe this is the sunrise that we woke up at 4am for....

Taken with the first ray of morning sunlight!

The veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy old post office of Alishan! It's still functional!
In fact, the employees of the post office all over Taiwan can actually stay at level two of the post office on vacation! We only got to know that because we met this really nice couple who were staying there!
Right outside the post office. Told ya the train was Alishan's highlight!

Morning after, when going downhill, we went to see tea plantations!
Paranoma view of the tea plantations!

I'm starting to think that I have an obsession with trains......

This is apparently a set that was specially built for the movie! The location is SO BLOODY obscure that we almost got lost just trying to find this! but the internals are rather interesting I have to say!

Add caption
Ending the post with act-yige model picture! I did not do ANYTHING to add the mist because yup, it really is so bloody cold up there.

xoxo!

Updates

It seems like I only blog like 3 times a year. It's been awhile since I have the time off to do some blogging!

Been really busy traveling and working as well as setting up my online clothing shop THREE3SOME!!!!

I know I know, the name is kinky and what not but don't misunderstand! It's definitely a shop you would like to pay some visit :)

Some updates about my life, work has been great. In fact, I'm really really glad I found this job. Great environment except some bitches but let's not allow bitches to ruin anyone's day!

My very first Kindle!
I've finally got my Kindle! Didn't want to get Kindle Fire or any fancy ones because I've already got my iPad and honestly, I need something that I can have my thumb on without it deleting something or doing something completely annoying!

Kindle is super super useful because now I can read ANYWHERE and during work!

Like I said, work is really good because I'm basically working on my own with nobody to bother me and that's so shiok it's beyond words. Except for the bitch who thinks she's the leader of the group only because the rest of them are way too nice to let her know otherwise.

In fact, I'm so free sometimes I have the time to take pictures like these....

...... when I'm shitting.

And because I'm sometimes so free, the spacious office (lobby) that I have becomes my portable shooting location. Because of my love for all the various filter apps these days, I don't even bother photoshopping anything to come up with pictures like this

I don't remember this picture being so washed out when I'm viewing it on my phone but ohwells never mind that.

Recently, I've also developed a love for all things fattening ( as seen from my weighing scale and chubby cheeks) including my favourite cupcake from Mamalade Pantry.
As much as their service is a piece of crap and off-putting as hell, I can't help but keep returning for their awesome Red Velvet cupcake with cream cheese and coconut shavings.

Heaven on Earth
Never in my life have I eaten something that's so moist yet not jelat. Sweet but savoury thanks to the lovely cream cheese and absolutely devine coconut shavings.
It's really sad how fast this cupcake sells out because I almost always couldn't manage to buy this. It's like out of the 10 times I go to eat this cake, I could only have it 2 times. Sad but true.

It is also of appropriate size, about the size of the palm, unlike the overrated Twelve Cupcakes, which is super small and lacks the layered taste of Mamalade Pantry's.

Now, as you can see from above, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE iPhone photo apps. I love them so much I don't even use my camera anymore. With iPhone apps, I can just simply snap and photo and completely change the presentation of the photo with simply a tap. THERE IS NO MORE NEED FOR PHOTOSHOP.
For those of you who doesn't know, Photoshop takes up so much time sometimes you just want to throw your Mac out of the window. It's like god's way of punishing us for wanting to delude other people into thinking we're better looking than we actually are. Other than filters, we can now also add bokehs! Bokehs are so cute and adorable they make an original photo like

this

and this

 and turns it into

THIS

AND THIS.
This is toooooo adorable for words. I can't stop using the apps even though JJ has officially judged me for constantly taking photos when I'm shitting.

Really have to start taking more pictures and blogging it before my ageing mind decides to forget too many things.

Marriage

Okay, first I have to say that the only reason why I even dared to start writing this blogpost is because I have banned Derp from reading this post.

Recently been reading a lot about a lot of people getting married and I have to say... Im kinda jealous.
Which is kinda bad, simply because I don't remember if I took any vow to not get married.

I remember before I entered uni, I made a vow to not get attached for 4 years, after getting my heart broken so many times, I could even write out 100 reasons not to get even attached.... Until I met Derp.

But it's really pretty sad because in Singapore, to get married, you'd have to go through this longgggggggggggg passage way of planning before you can get married.
The housing, the .. well the housing plays a big part. You have to apply for housing and then submit your marriage certificate within 3 months of allocation blah blah blah which is such a wet blanket!

Gone are the days where you can just marry in the heat of the moment.
Gone are the days where the guy can just ask the woman's hand in marriage after waking up next to her in the morning then suddenly realizing that this is the woman i want to wake up next to every single day for the rest of my life. Sappy. I know.

But most importantly, gone are the days where you marry spontaneously purely because you love your partner and want to start a family with your partner

And the biggest reason why I hate the lack of spontaneity is because I can't marry in Las Vegas -.- .
I hate it.

Growing up, all I want to is to marry myself off in a wedding that doesn't require planning, which is why I simply hate Chinese weddings. The banquets, the relatives the planning and THE MONEY, all of which I don't see the purpose in doing. True enough, marriage isn't just about the two of you but its not about the entire universe as well isn't it?

Okay fine I am lying. Growing up I never saw myself marrying off purely because I am so weird. I've always felt like a guy being trapped in a woman's body, and luckily I am still blessed with the extreme vanity that exceeds the norm of normal woman, but yeah, marriage always seem like such a scary thought, having to see the same face for the rest of you life.
I guess that was the rebellious side of me talking growing up.
Now, it seems more scary to spend the rest of my life alone while everyone around you starts getting married.

Anyway back to topic.
Why is it that all chinese has to get married in banquets?
WHY CAN'T I HAVE THE DISGUSTINGLY SKIMPY AND SLEAZY MARRIAGE IN LAS VEGAS?

I'm guessing if you don't have a house, it doesn't constitute to a happy marriage. And I would hardly think that a Las Vegas marriage fit into HDB's requirement of a marriage certificate.

But it's really kind of stupid that I'm writing this because I'm not getting married, not anytime soon.

But if I do, I would want to have a fairytale wedding, no banquets, just family with us, in Las Vegas.
